VETERAN MEMORIAL, BENEWAH COUNTY, IDAHO

Big Holder

Veteran's Memorial to honor those that served our country from Benewah County, Idaho

The Design centers around the Seal of the United States, 3 smaller memorials: 1 to those in the county who were awarded the Medal of Honor (includes famed WWII Ace Greg "Pappy" Boyington of the famed "Blacksheep Squadron"); another memorial honoring all of the county's veterans that were POW/MIA; and lastly a large memorial thanking all the veterans of the county for their sacrifices and service.
A large Flag Backdrop wall of etched steel to appear as a large flag flying in the wind encircles the 3 memorials as well as the 6 flags of each branch of the military. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marines. Centrally located on the upper Tier, flying high and proud is the United States Flag flanked by the POW/MIA and Idaho State flags.
